Training
Our Training
Radio
If you would prefer to stay on land, then we can train you to become a radio operator, and would like you to continue as a volunteer radio operator.
GRN: Government Radio Network, within Sea Rescue we have accredited trainers so you can be licensed to operate this radio system.
On Water
We regularly conduct on water exercises, practicing with the onboard electronic plotter & radio system.
Training is on the 2nd Saturday of every month with SR06 (Sea Rescue zero six) to make sure our training and boat handling skills are up to date during fine and inclement weather. This helps our crews to up-skill if they want to continue onto a skipper.
On Land
Thanks to our members, a big part of our fund raising is from collecting cans and bottles, from our special purpose built bins at locations in Edithburgh and Coobowie.
